Summer Brides

Wedding season has officially begun, as couples across the United States walk down the aisle to tie the knot. That's right, the summer months of June, July and August bustle with nuptials, according to a survey by XO Group Inc., creator of TheKnot.com and WeddingChannel.com. This summer, what to expect at a big fat Indian wedding. Vibrant colored clothes? Giant mandaps and decor? Bling? Well, let's find out.

What are the latest styles this bridal summer? This season started with beige and off white tones of heavily embellished lehengas, sherwanis, sarees and anarkalis with a blend of antique gold and silver sprinkled over and bejeweled with crystal stones. Hues of grey, blues and pastels in fluid silhouettes and crystallization of rich extravagant fabrics blend with prints and texture are also big this season.

What are the things you keep in mind when you design for a bride-to-be? Designing for the modern woman of today, who knows it well to mix style with tradition, our creations are a marvelous revelation of what women want. Creating a masterpiece out of the glorious past of the Maharajas and Maharanis or from the Venetian arts, we do it all. The first thing is choosing the colors and cuts that would suit her skin tone and body type. Making her feel exquisite, elegant and beautiful is our job; so we have to keep in mind her likes and dislike and work with that. It is a special day of her life and she has been dreaming and planning about this day since her childhood, so to design a perfect outfit is a special feeling altogether.

What are must-haves and what should a bride adorn on her D-day? Marriage brings in a big transition for a woman.. from a carefree girl to a mature responsible woman. Most definitely, the clothes to see her through the days as a newly-wed bride. And of course, jewelry.. right from her favorite pieces to her heirloom jewels. Finally, every girl brings her memories to her new life. It is best to cherish them through some mementos that will remind her of her maidenhood.
