The New Reception Outfit: Anarkali, Lengha Saree, and Gowns!

There are so many new trends popping up in the wedding scene. Brides normally wear a saree at their reception, but new trends really have taken over by storm.

Brides are now trying to change up their look at receptions because they want to provide a wow factor. Here are some great new trends you can wear for your reception!

Anarkali

Anarkalis were originally worn by dancers in the past and traditionally have heavy work like zari, zardosi, and sequins. The greatest thing about this style is you can dress it up as much or as little as you want. Brides can choose short, full, or sheer sleeves. This is a great outfit for receptions because it is very elegant and easy to move around in.

Lengha Saree

Lengha Sarees are the newest thing for brides to wear during their reception. The main reason why this outfit has become so popular is because it is extremely flattering and convenient to wear. The difference with a lengha saree is that the method of draping is so much easier than that of a traditional saree. A lengha saree is worn like a choli, but with premade pleats. It’s extremely easy to wear and just like the anarkali, it is very easy to move around in.

Gowns

Brides are trying to make their outfits more contemporary and mix eastern and western styles.  One of the newest trends I have been seeing is brides wearing gowns at their reception. The gown will have an Indian flare to it, but the bride has the additional benefit of being able to wear this gown to another event. It’s a great way to wear your outfit more than once!

Which style is your favorite?
